Full List Of Alberta DLIs That Offer PGWP-Eligible Studies

Study in Alberta: A post graduation work permit (PGWP) allows you to get an open work permit after completing your studies in Canada. So, it is essential to select a college/university that offers PGWP eligible studies.

A designated learning institution (DLI) is a school which government has approved to accept international students. However, not all designated learning institutions and study programs make you eligible for a post graduation work permit.  

Additionally, going to a designated learning institution that offers PGWP is essential to be eligible. Alberta is a land of opportunities that offers numerous study programs paired with practical experience and several pathways to permanent residency. Once you complete your studies, you can apply for permanent residency under the following:

  • International Graduate Stream under Alberta Opportunity Stream; or 
  • Canadian Experience Class under Express Entry 

However, to apply under these streams, you must have studied on a valid study permit and acquired PGWP to apply under the Canadian Experience Class or Alberta’s International Graduate Stream.

Always confirm with your DLI if your selected study program is PGWP-eligible or not. As some of these DLIs offer study programs that may not be eligible for PGWP.
