IRCC officer DM10032 has kept a lot of PR applicants in limbo since 2019. There were concerns raised by the applicants as last update on their application was in March 2020. After that, they didn’t hear any update on their application. INC – Immigration News Canada added to the voice initiated by CBC news in January 2022. For context, CBC News is Canada’s leading new channel and they shook the tree of this issue really hard. Eventually, applicants are seeing positive results on their applications.
IRCC submitted to House of Commons in March 2022 that officer DM10032 was working on 77 applicants as of February 2, 2022. Furthermore, IRCC mentioned that 59 have waited for more than a year, but only 5 have waited for more than 2 years.

As per CBC’s latest reporting on April 4, “Some immigrant hopefuls have even landed in Canada in the past few weeks while others are booking one-way tickets with newly stamped passports in hand.”
This is a positive news for applicants awaiting since long times. One of the applicant, Oluwaseun Adewolu told CBC News, “Two months after the news… literally everyone in my WhatsApp group has all gotten PPR [passport requests]. We have quite a number of people from that same group that are going to land [in Canada] this weekend.”

Adewolu alone knows more than 30 applicants assigned to DM10032 who are now seeing significant movement in processing of their files since January 2022. Although, this is a good news on processing, but some are still waiting.
One of the applicant from India, Kiranjot Randhawa applied for PR in November 2019. She informed CBC News that her application is assigned to DM10032. However, she is still waiting patiently and waiting for the positive result on her application. Her words quoted by CBC are heartbreaking. She said, “That hope is keeping us alive. But the wait is killing us.”
