Today, first Express Entry draw of April 2023 invites 3,500 profiles for permanent residency (PR) in a “no program specified” round of invitations.
The CRS (Comprehensive Ranking System) score cutoff jumps by 5 points to 486, predominantly due to reduction in number of ITAs.

In the month of March 2023, 28,000 invitations to apply (ITAs) were issued, and the CRS cut off score reduced from 490 to 481.
However, cutoff score now again increases after halt of two weeks due to creation of new Express Entry profiles and halving of the ITAs.
Upcoming Express Entry Draw Prediction
For last Express Entry draw, our CRS cut off score forecast was just 1 point off, but this week’s cutoff score came out to be quite high than expected.
Our forecast is usually based on the study of the CRS score distribution in the pool on the draw day and number of invitations, as well as our expectation of new profiles created until the draw day.
It seems like number of new profiles created since March 29, 2023 beat our expectations as well as half the number of invitations.
CRS score cutoff in the next draw on April 26, 2023 could be around 482 for no program specified draw.
If no program-specific draw is announced again next week, then we can see slightly lower cutoff score around 478.
The CRS score distribution of Express Entry candidates as of March 29, 2023 is shown below.
