Whereas weekly updates are now available for business immigration applications, all temporary residency applications, and permanent resident cards.

Family Sponsorship Processing Times (updated monthly)

Family sponsorship processing times are updated monthly. The quantity of applications, the workforce handling these applications, and anticipated new applications all affect these processing times.

As of July 2024, here are the updated times:

Spouse or Common-law Partner:

  • Outside Canada (outside Quebec): 10 months, unchanged
  • Outside Canada (Quebec): 35 months, increases by 3 months since July 3
  • Inside Canada (outside Quebec): 11 months, unchanged
  • Inside Canada (Quebec): 24 months, reduced by 4 months since July 3

Parents or Grandparents:

  • Outside Quebec: 24 months, unchanged
  • Quebec: 48 months, no change

Economic Immigration Processing Times

These times are updated both monthly and weekly, depending on the program.

Express Entry:

  • Canadian Experience Class (CEC): 5 months, no change
  • Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP): 5 months, no change
  • Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP): No updates since March 1, 2023
  • Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) via Express Entry: 6 months, no change

Non-Express Entry:

  • Non-Express Entry PNP: 11 months, unchanged.
  • Quebec Skilled Workers (QSW): 9 months, no change
  • Quebec Business Class: 46 months, unchanged
  • Federal Self-Employed: 47 months, reduced by 3 months

  • Nigeria: 175 days, increased by 4 days since August 20.
  • United States: 39 days, increased by 5 days since August 20.
  • Pakistan: 40 days, reduced by 7 days since August 20.
  • Philippines: 26 days, no change since August 20.

Visitor Visa Inside Canada (TRV):

  • Online: 26 days, increased by 1 day since August 20.

Visitor Visa extension:

  • Online: 117 days, reduced by 1 day since August 20.

Parents or grandparents Super Visa (varies by country):

  • India: 70 days, increased by 3 days since August 20
  • Nigeria: 64 days, reduced by 47 days since August 20
  • United States: 204 days, no change since August 20, but overall reduced by 55 days since August 14
  • Pakistan: 149 days, increased by 5 days since August 20.
  • Philippines: 108 days, increased by 1 day since August 20.

Study Permit Outside Canada (varies by country):

  • India: 5 weeks, no change since August 20, but overall increased by 1 week since July 24
