Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) will continue targeting the same 6 categories in the Express Entry draws during 2024 as they were in 2023.
In 2023, IRCC implemented a new method of selecting candidates via Express Entry rounds of invitations (ITAs) to better assist in meeting certain economic goals.
Immigrants with specific credentials, such as education, work experience, or language skills, are chosen to meet economic requirements and priorities through “category” selection.
The following categories are those that IRCC is focusing on for the Express Entry draws:
OR
- 6 months of work experience in any one of the below-listed occupations.
As previously cleared by IRCC, the general or all-program Express Entry draws will continue along with these targeted rounds of invitations.
