Today, Immigration Minister Sean Fraser announced first Healthcare Targeted Express Entry Draw sending out 500 Invitations to apply (ITAs) for 35 healthcare occupations.
Furthermore, he said that 1,500 more invitations to apply (ITAs) will be sent on July 5, 2023 targeting these 35 healthcare occupations.

He made this announcement regarding Express Entry for skilled newcomers in health care fields to address the labour needs in the healthcare sector.
The first STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) round for category-based Express Entry draw will begin the week of July 5, according to an announcement made today by the honourable François-Philippe Champagne, Minister of Innovation, Science, and Industry, on behalf of the honourable Minister Sean Fraser.

These measures are to emphasis on hiring people with STEM backgrounds, such as data scientists, software developers and programmers, mathematicians, statisticians and actuaries, and electrical and electronics engineers.
It will benefit Canada’s science and technology sector by attracting the qualified workers that companies require to spur innovation and realize their full growth potential.
What Could This Announcement Be?
On May 31, Immigration Minister announced selection criteria for occupation-specific targeted Express Entry draws and revealed list of eligible occupations.
It seems like this could be a repeat announcement regarding targeted Express Entry draws for 35 healthcare occupations or further expansion of the healthcare targeted category.
Furthermore, there are some chances that Immigration Minister along with Health Minister unveils details of first targeted Express Entry draw for healthcare occupations, but this is too much optimistic expectation.
