IRCC Backlog Increases To 2.7 Million As Per New Update!

Canada Immigration News - IRCC Backlog

IRCC Backlog jumped to 2,679,031 as of July 17, 2022. This is 291,147 increase from June backlog data and 548,646 increase from April 29 IRCC backlog data. Although, there was some signs of improvement in February update, but backlog has been significantly increasing since then.

Furthermore, the backlog specifically increased for temporary residence applications by 248,950 since June 6 data. However, backlog is continuously reducing for Express Entry applications since mid-April. Because of this, IRCC resumed All Program Express Entry Draws on July 6. Next draw is expected to be tomorrow.

Increase in backlog is predominantly due to temporary residence applications in the inventor as well as increase in citizenship applications. Also, there has been priority processing of applications for Ukrainians fleeing war.

As per IRCC website362,664 such applications were received between March 17 and July 5, 2022. Out of these, 151,353 has been approved so far. Furthermore, backlog also grew slightly among family sponsorship applications to 118,251 from 112,837.

Parents and Grandparents Program (PGP) inventory has increased again to 47,025 from 41,802. Below are comparison tables for backlog data from recent updates.
