This page includes a list of the latest official IRCC processing times as of April 6, 2023, as well as a comparison to the processing times of last week.
To fully comprehend what these processing times represent, please carefully read the accompanying information.
These processing timeframes, which are formally updated each week by the IRCC, have been tracked by us for more than a year and published for the benefit of our readers.
The IRCC revised its processing tool in the beginning of 2022 to include precise data on normal processing times rather than simply service standard timescales.
Prior to that, it demonstrated IRCC service standards, which reflect IRCC target of handling an application in a timely manner. The service standards are not frequently revised.
The majority of services for citizenship and permanent residency now display processing timelines that are updated each week based on information from the last 6 months, for 80% of the applications.
These updates provide you with more accurate information that reflects processing volumes and any modifications to IRCC capacity to handle applications.
Based on information from the previous 8 or 16 weeks, processing timelines for applications for temporary residency are also updated every week.
These processing times are intended to provide prospective immigrants and visa seekers to Canada a rough idea of how long it could take for a decision to be made on their application.
This does not imply that it will take the same length of time to process your application.
The processing time for your application may be longer or shorter than stated because it is an average of the timings for 80% of the applicants.
Please be aware that the processing period starts when the application is received by the IRCC and ends when the immigration officer decides whether to accept the application or not.
