Canada may soon start more direct flights from Canada to Amritsar and other international airports of India. Today, this was indicated by Transport Minister of Canada, Hon’ble Omar Alghabra during the question hour in House of Commons.
Question was raised by Ruby Sahota, Hon’ble member from Brampton North. And, her question was directly pointed at direct flights from Canada to Amritsar, India. It’s important to mention here that both Ruby Sahota and Omar Alghabra represents same political party (Liberals).
Transport minister stated that he met Indian Minister of Civil Aviation, Jyoti Jyotiraditya Scindia today afternoon. During the meeting, he (Omar) raised the issue of more direct flights to India, including Amritsar. He further thanked Minister Scindia for his willingness to work together on strengthening India-Canada Air Transport Agreement.
Transport minister ended saying that their government will continue to support airlines to implement more direct flights to India. So, we believe direct flights to Amritsar and other destinations in India might soon be a reality.
