With The New YYZ Express You Can Escape Long Airport Lines

New YYZ Express To Skip Wait Times At Toronto Airport – All You Need To Know

Last Updated On 23 May 2023, 10:28 AM EDT (Toronto Time)

With Pearson Airport’s new online booking system, you can go through security more quickly as the airport introduced YYZ Express on November 3, 2022. It allows passengers to reserve slots for security screening in advance and help in reducing wait times.

To prevent a repetition of the travel turmoil experienced earlier this year, Toronto Pearson says it will provide passengers with a means to escape lengthy security lines as the airport prepares for a winter travel rush.

The Greater Toronto Airports Authority, which runs Pearson, said that having a time slot reserved in advance could reduce some of the anxiety associated with travelling via the airport.

New YYZ Express At Toronto Airport

How does the YYZ Express work?

You need to enter your flight details 72 hours before your scheduled flight, and the system will show you available time slots. Otherwise, register when you get to the airport.

As soon as your appointment time approaches, you’ll get a QR code that you can use. In addition, an archived copy may be found in your email, which you can access later.

When your reservation time arrives, report to the assigned checkpoint, provide your code, and your screening process will begin.

All domestic and international passengers can use YYZ Express at Terminal 1 D Gates security screening point and Terminal 3 B and C Gates security screening point, close to check-in counter #333.

Moreover, every traveller can use YYZ Express for free! It neither requires an account nor membership. All you need to do is visit their website. You can use their service daily from 5:00 am to 1:00 pm at T1 and from 2:00 pm to 10:00 pm at T3.

For connecting flight travellers, the YYZ Express program is optional. You only need it if you are departing. However, you are welcome to use the program if you need to enter through CATSA security screening after leaving the airport’s secure area between flights.

Below are the steps to reserve your spot for security screening using YYZ Express.

Steps to use YYZ Express

Passengers can reserve a slot in the security line using the YYZ Express online reservation system up to 72 hours before their flight. Below are the steps to book a slot:

  1. Go to the YYZ Express Website
  2. Sign up either before your flight or after you arrive at the airport
  3. Once you are on the website, choose your airline and destination and enter your flight number.
  4. Add your information, including name, number of people in your group and contact details.
  5. When you arrive at the airport, check in your bags and wait for your scheduled time
  6. Go to your assigned checkpoint, and you can find this by looking for a virtual queue logo.
  7. Show your QR code to the airport staff
  8. Now you are ready to go through the screening!

By using the YYZ Express system, you can reduce wait time significantly. Ensure you take advantage of this free program and reserve your spot quickly, as available slots may be limited.
