Year 2022 is coming to an end, but IRCC processing woes still continue. IRCC minister announced updating online processing tool on March 31, 2022 to provide accurate information on average processing times.
These processing times are to ensure that Canada immigration/visa applicants get a faint idea of their applications’ processing.
Furthermore, future applicants planning to apply for Canadian immigration/visa can also have an idea of what to expect before submitting their application.
As per latest available official IRCC data, the Canadian immigration backlog was at 1.09 million as of November 30, 2022.
Moreover, 1.02 million applications were still being processed within IRCC service standards. So, overall there were around 2.1 million applications under processing at IRCC.
Recently, IRCC shared the data that they processed record 4.8 million applications in 2022. This number is almost double the applications processing in 2021.
This article enlists newly updated IRCC processing times as of December 29, 2022.
These processing times are meant to give new weekly timescales based on data collected over the past 6 months.
Additionally, the processing time begins when IRCC receives the application and ends when the immigration officer reaches a decision on the application.
