Eligible taxpayers in Ontario will get two CRA benefits payments on the 10th and 20th of June 2024.
While most of the CRA benefits are paid quarterly, there are two that are paid on a monthly basis to taxpayers in Ontario if meet the eligibility criteria.

Below are the 2 benefits that eligible taxpayers in Ontario will get in June 2024.

Canada Child Benefit (CCB)
Canada Child Benefit (CCB) is a tax-free monthly payment made to eligible families on the 20th of every month to assist with the cost of raising children under the age of 18.
This benefit is also available to newcomers to Canada who have just landed as permanent residents (PRs).
Furthermore, temporary residents, including international students and work permit holders, qualify for this benefit once they have completed 18 months in Canada with a valid permit in the 19th month.
New permanent residents need to apply for CCB as soon as they land in Canada using the Form RC66, Canada Child Benefits Application.
How much can you get?
CCB payments are based on the number of children, age of the children, and adjusted family net income (AFNI).
If your AFNI is under $34,863, you get the maximum amount for each child as listed below:
- $619.75 per month for each child under 6 years of age
- $522.91 per month for each child aged between 6 to 17 years

Ontario Trillium Benefit
Ontario Trillium Benefit (OTB) is a program that combines the Ontario Sales Tax Credit (OSTC), Northern Ontario Energy Credit (NOEC), and Ontario Energy and Property Tax Credits (OEPTC).
The annual OTB entitlement is typically divided into 12 equal installments, with payments being made on the 10th of each month.
Nevertheless, if the annual OTB payment for an individual or family is equal to or less than $360, it is distributed as a single, lump-sum payment, typically in July.
Depending on the individual’s age, income, place of residence, family size, and the quantity paid in rent or property tax, the maximum annual OTB payment is as follows:

| Ontario Energy and Property Tax Credit (OEPTC) | $1,248: If you’re between 18 and 64 years old $1,421: If you’re over 65 years old $277: If you live on a reserve or in a long-term care facility $25: If you’re a student living in a post-secondary school residence |
| Ontario Sales Tax Credit (OSTC) | $360: For each child and adult in the household |
You are required to submit your personal income tax and benefit return, along with the ON-BEN Application Form that is included in your tax return package, in order to file for the Ontario Trillium Benefit on an annual basis.
It is still necessary to file a tax return, even if there is no income to report.
The Canada Revenue Agency will utilize the information contained in your tax return to ascertain your eligibility and inform you of your credit entitlement.
