Eligible Ontarian tax payers will get their next monthly Ontario Trillium Benefit (OTB) payment on May 10, 2024.
Combining the Ontario Sales Tax Credit (OSTC), Northern Ontario Energy Credit (NOEC), and Ontario Energy and Property Tax Credits (OEPTC) is the Ontario Trillium Benefit (OTB).
A combination of the three tax credits listed above, the Ontario government provides the OTB to low- and moderate-income people and families.
Usually, the yearly OTB entitlement is split by 12 and payments are made on the tenth of each month.
However, if the OTB annual payment for an individual or family is $360 or less, then it is issued in one lump-sum payment, usually in July.
We provide articles on all the tax credits that our immigrant community in Canada and Canada aspirants should be aware of, and the OTB is one of the major benefits for tax-paying residents of Ontario.
This article delves into OTB eligibility, the amount of OTB, how to apply for OTB, and other specifics.
