New OINP Change For The Education Requirement For Nurses

Effective July 1, 2024 Ontario has also made it easier for nursing professionals under the Express Entry Human Capital Priorities and French-Speaking Skilled Worker streams.

Nurses are now not required to meet the education requirement if they meet the following conditions:

  • they are already registered with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) in the General, Extended, or Temporary class
  • they have a primary NOC that falls under one of the below occupations:
    • NOC 31300: Nursing coordinators and supervisors
    • NOC 31301: Registered nurses and registered psychiatric nurses
    • NOC 31302: Nurse practitioners
    • NOC 32101: Licensed practical nurses

OINP Express Entry streams usually select candidates in the federal Express Entry pool meeting the their eligibility criteria.

Interested candidates need not to create a separate profile with OINP, rather select intended province as Ontario while creating their Express Entry profile.
