Today, the first Express Entry draw of July sent out 920 invitations to apply (ITA) for permanent residency (PR).

The draw targeted all the Express Entry profiles with a provincial nomination and a comprehensive ranking system (CRS) score of 739 or above.

The provincial nomination alone accounts for 600 CRS points so it can be implied that invited candidates had a CRS score of around 139, excluding the provincial nomination.

In our Express Entry draw prediction released last week, we expected the draw to be announced around July 3rd and the CRS cutoff score prediction for PNP was 700.

The 739 cutoff is predominantly because of the lower number of invitations issued as compared to the previous PNP draw.

We are hoping to see another draw this week, most likely a category-based draw, but the chances of CEC-only draws can also not be ruled out.

Upon receiving an invitation to apply, candidates will now have sixty days to reply by sending in completed applications that bolster the data that was used to generate their EE profiles.
