3 Express Entry Draws Issues 3,574 PR Invitations

Three Express Entry draws this week so far held by Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) sent out 3,574 invitations to apply (ITAs) for permanent residency.

On November 20, the first Express Entry round of invitations for healthcare occupations since July sent out 3,000 ITAs to profiles with a comprehensive ranking system (CRS) score of 463 or above.

Also 400 ITAs were previously distributed by the IRCC on November 19 to candidates for the Canadian Experience Class (CEC) who had a CRS score of 547 or above.

In comparison to the last CEC draw on October 22, the comprehensive ranking system (CRS) cutoff score went up by eight points.

Additionally, on November 18, 733 invitations were given to candidates who met the requirements for all Express Entry categories, had a comprehensive ranking system (CRS) score of 812 or above, and had a provincial nomination from one of the Canadian provinces.

The CRS cutoff score increased by 4 points in comparison to the November 12, 2024, PNP-only invitation round.

Immigration to Canada: “In-Canada Focus”

With a greater “in-Canada focus,” the Immigration Levels Plan 2025–2027 reflects Canada’s changing immigration priorities.

By giving current residents easier methods to remain permanently, the focus is a part of a larger immigration policy to address persistent labour shortages, boost economic growth, and encourage integration.

Transitioning Temporary Residents to Permanent Status: The 2025–2027 plan is anticipated to enhance funding for programs such as the Canadian Experience Class (CEC) under Express Entry, in recognition of the abilities and contributions of international students, temporary foreign workers, and other temporary residents.

People with Canadian education or job experience are given preference in these programs, which puts them in a good position to integrate into society and the workforce quickly.

The strategy helps vital industries with labour shortages, like manufacturing, technology, healthcare, and construction, by concentrating on people who are already in Canada.

The “In-Canada focus” makes sure that these people can move in seamlessly and take on important jobs without needing extra help with orientation or settlement.

How do Express Entry draws work?

The Canadian immigration agency processes skilled workers’ applications for permanent residency through the Express Entry system.

Candidates are rated based on factors like education, work experience, and language competency after completing an online profile.

An application for permanent residence is requested of the top-scoring candidates.

Candidates must meet the requirements for one of the federal economic immigration programs in order to be eligible for Express Entry.
