The Canadian visitor visa, officially known as a temporary resident visa is often multiple-entry visa for up to 10 years or one month before the passport expiry (whichever date comes first). You cannot stay in Canada for more than 6 months, until or unless you apply for an extension or exit and re-enter Canada after 24 hours.

How to Apply for Your Visitor Visa?
Depending on the purpose of your visa, you must choose between a single entry or multiple entry visa. Upon your decision, prepare documents to demonstrate that you meet the Canadian visitor visa criteria.
Step 1: Prepare your documents.

Step 2: Apply Online
Create an account or sign in on your IRCC portal, verify your email and fill out your online visa application form. You may need to fill out the following details in your visa application:
- Personal details
- Travel document details
- Education history
- Criminality and security
- Medical background
After filling in your details, pay the visa application fee of CAD 100 and the biometrics fees of $85 towards the application’s last stages.
Note that you have 60 days to submit a complete application, beginning when you start your application. The system will delete your information after 60 days.
Step 3: Give your biometrics and photo
Book your appointment with the closest VFS Global after submitting your application. You’ll receive a biometrics instruction letter after you book your VFS appointment. Also, take a print and keep this letter safe.
On your appointment day, an official will gather the required documents, biometrics information and photographs. Then, after your application is submitted, you’ll receive a unique tracking number.
Step 4: Wait for decision on your application. Use this unique tracking number to know when your passport is ready for collection.
