2 New Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program-OINP draws issued 1,666 invitations to apply for permanent residency (PR) today, July 9, 2024.
In a general draw, OINP sent out a whopping 1,556 PR invitations under the Masters Graduate Stream with an Expression of Interest (EOI) score of 54 or above.
This EOI cutoff score slightly increased by 2 points as compared to the previous Masters Graduate Stream draw on March 19.
In addition, 110 invitations to apply for the PhD graduate stream were also sent to all EOI profiles scoring 50 or higher.
This EOI cutoff score jumped by 8 points as compared to the previous PhD graduate stream on March 19.
The OINP EOI profiles created under both of these streams between July 9, 2023, and July 9, 2024 were eligible for this draw.

In order to get permanent residency (PR) in Ontario, invited candidates in these draws now have 14 days to submit an application that confirms the information in their Expression of Interest profile.

One of the Best Option For International Students
As usual, we would like to reiterate our advice to applicants applying for permanent residency in Canada in light of increased Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) scores in Express Entry draws.
Rather than getting LMIAs or operating payrolls, international students seeking permanent residency in Canada may enroll in a Masters program at a recognized university.
This will:
- Improve their academic standing in order to be prepared for future work opportunities.
- Allow them to stay in Canada as students, increasing their prospects of obtaining permanent residence.
- Obtaining work offers, LMIAs, or payrolls is not required for the OINP Masters Graduate Stream; therefore, it is advisable that you invest your money in developing your professional profile instead.
An overview of the OINP Draw 2024 Expression of Interest (EOI)
So far, 13,455 invitations to permanent residency have been given out as a result of the OINP Expression of Interest.
The International Student Stream has gotten the most invitations at 5,277, followed by the Masters Graduate stream at 4,270 and the Foreign Worker stream at 3,569.

We are yet to see the first OINP In-Demand Skills Stream draw for 2024.
Recently, OINP added 35 occupations to its in-demand skills stream so there is now a high possibility of this draw.
