What is Global Talent Stream (GTS)

There are two categories to be eligible under GTS; Category A or Category B.

Category A

In order to be qualified for the GTS’s Category A, your Canadian employer must be suggested by one of the GTS’s recognized partners. Click here for the list of recognized partners for Category A.

Additionally, they should be hiring someone with advanced expertise or a degree in their area OR with 5 years of experience in the sector and a position paying $80,000 or more.

Category A is the less popular option. Employers in this category are required to demonstrate how they intend to increase job creation in the Canadian market.

Category B

To be qualified for GTS Category B, employers must seek to engage highly competent foreign talent to fill in-demand roles on the Global Talent Occupations List.

The above list of occupations now has 5 more occupations and in total 17 occupations that are eligible under category B of GTS.

Furthermore, the remuneration must be at least equal to or greater than the prevailing wage for that position.
