Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) conducted the third Express Entry draw of the month on October 14, issuing 345 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) under the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP).
This draw marks another selective round as the federal government continues to prioritize candidates with strong provincial nominations.
The Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score cutoff has finally dropped by 77 points as compared to the previous PNP only draw on September 29.

This week crucial for a new pattern of Express Entry draws
This October 14 draw follows earlier category-based and Canadian Experience Class (CEC) draws in October, showing IRCC’s commitment to maintaining immigration targets for 2025.
While PNP-specific draws typically favour candidates nominated by provinces, future CEC- or category-based rounds could invite skilled workers in healthcare, trades, education, or French-speaking streams.
Those in the 450–500 range should remain optimistic and keep their profiles updated if they qualify for any of the category-based draws.
Improving CRS scores through provincial nominations, language test upgrades, or additional work experience can make a decisive difference.
As we posted in the morning article, IRCC might now be switching to a weekly pattern for Express Entry draws rather than biweekly rounds.
This means that we might see draws every week alternating with PNP, CEC, and category-based rounds of invitations.
Click here for detailed observation on the emerging new pattern of weekly draws.
If this week goes with only the PNP draw, then we might see another draw, probably CEC next week, followed by a category-based round in the last week of October.
However, as the year-end approaches, IRCC could slow down draw frequency while recalibrating allocations for 2026 under the next Immigration Levels Plan.
For now, this third Express Entry draw of October reinforces the importance of provincial pathways in Canada’s immigration system, offering a steady route for skilled professionals ready to contribute to Canada’s economy and communities.
Why are CRS scores usually high in PNP-only draws?
PNP draws include candidates who already received 600 additional CRS points from provincial nominations. This automatically raises their total CRS score above the general draw thresholds.
Will there be more Express Entry draws in October 2025?
It’s highly likely that at least two more draws could occur later in October, potentially CEC followed by French-speaking or occupation-based categories, depending on IRCC’s draw cycle.
What is the latest Express Entry draw?
The most recent Express Entry draw, #372, took place on October 14, 2025. This was a draw for people with provincial nomination. It gave out 345 invitations to apply (ITAs) to people with a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 778 or higher.
Date: October 6, 2025
