Canada Youth Mobility Program – Eligibility & How to Apply!

Each year, thousands of people come to Canada for a better lifestyle. There are a lot of programs that let people come to Canada temporarily. The Youth Mobility Program is one such program. It is an international exchange program between Canada and countries that have made agreements with it.

The Youth Mobility Program has different caps depending on the country. For instance, Canada offers 500 spots for Poland. So, 500 Canadians can travel to Poland and vice versa.

How to Apply?

Listed below are the steps you need to follow to apply for this program—

Know the Deadline

Firstly, you need to make sure that you know the date and time of your application deadline. You need to submit your application within 20 days of accepting the ITA. The date and time of your deadline are in coordinated universal time (UTC). Thus, this may be different than your local time.

Complete the form online

The next thing you need to do is complete an online form. Make sure that you answer all questions accurately and truthfully. Also, don’t leave any gaps in the work and education history. Include all absences, periods of unemployment, travel dates, etc.

Get All The Documents

Once you have submitted the form online, you will get a list of documents. You can submit electronic copies of your supporting documents using a scanner or camera. The documents that will need are-

  • Digital Photo
  • Passport
  • Proof of Funds
  • Medical exams 
  • Health insurance
  • Police Certificate
  • Resume
  • Family Information
  • Electronic Travel Authorization or Visitor visa application

Pay Your Fees

The next thing you have to do is pay your fees. The fees depend on the IEC category that you are applying for. You can check the fees on the pay your fees tool. However all applicants have to pay a participation fee which is CAN$156. Also, you have to pay an open work permit holder fee of CAN$100.

Submit your application

The next thing that you need to do is submit your application.  Make sure that you fill out all mandatory form fields accurately. Also, you should pay the fees. The system will not let you go ahead unless all required documents are included. Once you have submitted your application, IRCC verifies the information you have submitted. If everything is okay and you are eligible to work in Canada, you get a message in your account with the next steps. 

Biometrics

Lastly. you need to give your fingerprints and photo. In most cases, this is after you have applied. If you’ve already given your biometrics, they may still be valid. However, if you need to give biometrics, IRCC will send you a biometric instruction letter (BIL).You have up to 30 days to give your biometrics.
