What is the historical significance of Calgary Stampede?

The first Calgary Stampede was held in 1886. The Calgary District and Agricultural Society sponsored its first agricultural exhibit.

However, there was virtually nothing in Calgary at the time. It had a CPR station, a Northwest Mounted Police post, and approximately one thousand residents.

Consequently, this Exhibition was an occasion to spread information about agricultural practices in the West.

Additionally, individuals could have joy and showcase the finest of the West.

Gradually, this Exhibition became an annual event, and an increasing number of people began to attend.
