What is the living wage?

The living wage is the minimum income necessary for a worker to meet their basic needs, such as food, housing, and healthcare, without relying on government assistance or other forms of financial support.

How is the living wage calculated?

The living wage is calculated based on the cost of living in a specific geographic area and takes into account factors such as housing costs, transportation expenses, and the number of dependents in a household.

The goal of the living wage is to give workers a decent standard of living, and it is frequently higher than the government-set minimum wage.

When will the Ontario minimum wage increase?

Every year, the minimum wage rates are adjusted in accordance with the rate of inflation.

If that rate changes, the new minimum wage will come into effect on October 1st of that particular year.
