New IEC 2024 Rounds Of Invitations

International Experience Canada – IEC 2024 sent out 2,036 work permit invitations during the week ending May 4, 2024, under various categories.

Working Holiday Visa, the largest IEC category, issued 1,776 open work permit invitations to participants from over 32 eligible countries.

In the Working Holiday Pool at the moment, there are 32,556 candidates competing for 21,801 available spots left for the rest of the year.

The Young Professional category sent out 190 invitations for closed work permits, with 4,953 spots still available for upcoming draws.

The third category, International Co-op (Internship), invited only 90 candidates in the pool to apply for closed work permits.

The IEC 2024 season has a processing time of 5 weeks, as per the most recent official IRCC processing update on May 1.

IEC 2024 Working Holiday Invitations

Invited profiles under the Working Holiday category receive an open work visa that allows employment with almost any Canadian company.

This is the right category for you if you are from an eligible country and would like to work for several Canadian companies in various locations, earning money to support your travel across Canada.

No job offer is needed for the working holiday visa category.

Young Professionals Category Invitations

Under the Young Professionals category, a closed work permit is issued to eligible candidates receiving an invitation from a specific employer.

To be eligible, candidates need to have a legitimate job offer from a Canadian employer that can help them grow professionally.

Individuals receiving work permits under the Young Professionals category cannot work for any other employer except the one that has provided the job offer.

Internships (International Co-op) Invitations

International co-op (internship) category also offers closed work permits allowing the approved candidates to work at one place and for one employer.

This category is for individuals from eligible countries who are post-secondary students receiving a job offer for a work placement or internship in Canada.

They need to prove that will finish their studies by completing this work placement or internship.
