Latest round of invitations for International Experience Canada – IEC 2023 for week ending July 7 sent out approximately 1,700 invitations to apply (ITAs) for work permits.
The vast majority of invites, 1,556 were extended to applicants hailing from countries that qualify for the Working Holiday visa category, which grants those individuals unrestricted work permits.
In 2023, the Working Holiday Category has already sent around 86,617 invitations to apply for open work permits. These invitations were given out thus far.

In the Young Professionals category, invitations were extended to about 136 candidates, and in the International Co-op (internship) category, invitations were extended to about 97 individuals.
The most recent processing time update provided by the IRCC indicates that the processing time for the ongoing IEC season is now 9 weeks.
