Canadian passport wait times have been unacceptable post-pandemic. Canadians have to line up real early in the morning to wait for their turns. Furthermore, spots at busy passport offices are being sold for anywhere between $50-80.
On July 25, 2022, below mentioned 5 additional locations were opened for Canadians to pick up their passports. The only location in Canada that does not offer pickup service is Hamilton East passport office.

As per July 25 press release, Service Canada has issued 605,440 passports since April 1, 2022. They also provided below statistics for the week of July 11 to 17
- Service Canada issued 48,481 passports.
- Staff worked 7,076 hours of overtime.
- The average call centre wait time was 56 minutes.
In an effort to what applicants should expect at passport offices, Feds are now updating the wait times online 3 times a day (9:30 a.m., 12:00 p.m., and 2:00 p.m local times). Below is the list of Canada passport offices with latest wait times as of today (July 27, 2022) at 1:30 pm EST.
