Frist Statement By New Immigration Minister Sean Fraser!

Immigration minister was changed in new cabinet of Trudeau government. Sean Fraser replaced Marco Mendicino. This replacement passed on backlog to new immigration minister. Canada has plethora of immigration programs to welcome newcomers, but still having problem with processing of applications on time. This needs to be addressed as soon as possible. Previously, IRCC has been putting forward COVID as reason for delay in the process, but now COVID has subsided and most of the Canadians are now fully vaccinated. So, biggest challenge for Sean will be to reduce processing time.

After being appointed as IRCC minister, Sean thanked PM Trudeau and assured that he understands the need of immigration for Canada’s recovery. He said “immigration will remain a key pillar of Canada’s recovery and I’m committed to ensuring that we continue to have the workers we need, where we need them.” As per his statement, it seems he will build up on Hon’ble Mendicino’s work and will introduce more programs in positive manner to accept immigrants.
