The Canada Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot (RNIP) is a community-driven initiative that facilitates permanent residency for skilled foreign labourers who wish to reside and work in one of the participating communities.

The Immigration Minister of Canada, Marc Miller, confirmed on March 6th that the Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot (RNIP) will be made a permanent program.

Furthermore, he said that they will also be adding more communities to expand this program further.

In this article, we are enlisting the latest status updates from all the participating communities in the Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot.

North Bay, Ontario

The North Bay and Area Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot (RNIP) is currently accepting applications in 37 targeted occupations, with only 10 spots for open NOCs.

Only at the Community Recommendation Committee’s discretion will applicants with a job offer not on the above list be taken into consideration.

High-skilled positions being evaluated under the Open NOC include lawyers, contact centre supervisors, and chefs.

Sudbury, Ontario

The RNIP Program in Sudbury is currently accepting applications until the 2024 allocation is filled.

The Sudbury RNIP program will reserve 51 community recommendations for French-speaking applicants in 2024.
