Today, the Minister of Social Development, Karina Gould announced opening of seven new 10-day passport service locations across Canada.
Below is the list of new Canadian passport 10-day service locations:
- Prince George, British Columbia
- Lac-Mégantic, Quebec
- Gaspé, Quebec
- Saint-Georges, Quebec
- Timmins, Ontario
- Sainte-Agathe-des-Monts, Quebec
- Dryden , Ontario
The official press release also provided an update that delivery of passports has returned to pre-pandemic levels with no backlogs now.
Furthermore, Service Canada is exceeding its delivery standard for the majority of applications.
Moreover, Service Canada has resumed delivering nearly all passports within the 10- and 20-day timeframe, with approximately 98% of passports issued within service standards.
There are now 20 Service Canada Centres across the country where Canadians can apply and get their passport by mail within 10 business days.
This opening of new Canadian passport 10-day service sites enable Canadians to receive service closer to their homes and reduces wait times at passport offices.
Canadians who require a passport in less than 10 business days are still required to visit a passport office that offers express or urgent pick-up service.
